The New Horizons Swing Band, directed by Shawn Robinson, is an all-ages group dedicated to the playing of swing and jazz music. The group has seen unprecedented growth and success since its foundation in 2005. We play several free concerts annually in and around Las Cruces, NM.

We are a part of the New Horizons International Music Association. The group provides the opportunity for adults to either return to their musical roots or explore their artistic side for the first time. The first New Horizons Band was created in 1991 by Dr. Roy Ernst of the Eastman School of Music. Today there are bands and orchestras across the country and around the world. While complete beginners are encouraged to take private lessons before joining the band, those with basic musical knowledge are welcome to join the group and will be nurtured by their peers.
